Understand Your Back Pain.
Build the Right Plan.

After your McGill Method assessment, you’ll have a clear understanding of what’s driving your back pain, what may be keeping it irritated, and what you can do about it. You’ll leave with practical strategies you can use immediately to reduce aggravation, move with more confidence, and start working toward lasting improvement.

What Is the McGill Method?

The McGill Method is an evidence-informed approach to assessing and managing back pain, developed from more than 30 years of research by Dr. Stuart McGill, one of the world’s leading experts in low-back pain and spinal biomechanics.

Rather than applying the same treatment or exercises to everyone, the McGill Method focuses on understanding the individual. By identifying the specific movements, postures and loads that contribute to your pain, we can develop practical strategies to reduce irritation and build a recovery plan tailored to you.

As a Certified McGill Method Clinician, I have completed extensive training and study in Dr. McGill’s approach and apply these principles in my clinical practice. The goal is to help you understand what is contributing to your back pain, know what you can do about it, and build a clear path toward returning to the activities that matter to you.

You've Tried to Get Better. Why Does Your Back Pain Keep Coming Back?

Maybe you've already tried physiotherapy, chiropractic care, massage, stretching, strengthening, rest, medications or injections. You may have even had an MRI or X-ray—and still don't feel like you fully understand your back pain.

The missing piece may not be another treatment.

It may be taking the time to understand what keeps aggravating your back in the first place.

At Atlantic Low Back Solutions, we start by investigating your individual pain triggers—the movements, postures and loads your back responds to—and identifying strategies that can reduce irritation.

Because when you better understand what's contributing to your pain, you can make more informed decisions about what to change and what to gradually build back up.

Stop guessing. Start understanding your back.

My Story

I’ve always been driven to understand why someone is in pain and what will actually help them get better, rather than simply treating where it hurts.

That pursuit became personal after experiencing two significant lumbar disc herniations of my own. Learning to apply the principles of the McGill Method changed the way I understood and managed my back. Today, I’m pain-free, stronger than ever, and able to do the activities that matter to me.

That experience led me to pursue extensive study and training in Dr. Stuart McGill’s approach and become a Certified McGill Method Clinician. What stood out to me was its systematic approach—taking the time to identify the specific factors contributing to someone’s pain and using those findings to determine what they need to move forward.

That’s the approach I bring to every assessment. Rather than rushing into treatment or giving you a generic set of exercises, we take the time to understand your back, identify what may be keeping it irritated, and develop practical strategies and a plan built around you.

If you’ve been struggling with back pain and still don’t feel like you understand why it keeps happening or what to do about it, that’s exactly what I want to help you figure out.
